Comrades and Sisters,

Things seem to be going good at this time. I am going to schedule a clean-up of the Canteen and outside area toward the end of September so we can have everything looking good for BJ’s Homecoming. Hope to have a good turn out for this.
The Fair turned out good since we picked up a few new members.
We will be electing two new House Committee members at the next meeting — so come on out and elect someone that will do a good job for you. We really need to get more people out for the meetings! Talk to your friends and get them to attend.
Feel free to put suggestions in the box to make our Club better.
In closing, take care and may God Bless.

Loyally,
Ski, Commander

Text Box: FROM THE PRESIDENT:

Greetings Sisters,
Sorry for the slow start this year, but we are catching up and are off and running. The 4th day into our new year was the 4th of July parade. We did not have much Ladies Auxiliary participation, but I do thank those that showed up for decora– ing the float and participating in the parade activities.
I pleaded with the Auxiliary membership to show some interest in our Bingo Hall concession but received none — so I went to outside resources to get help. Thanks to two of our members, Angie Bahr and Ruby Wilson, we now have a crew of young ladies who are doing an excellent job keeping it running very well. The Bingo players and staff think they are great and have no complaints.
Family Day in the Canteen had a pretty fair turn-out, thanks to the efforts of Liz Kuchinsky and her helpers. It was a very fun day for those in attendance. It was a lot of fun for the kids and the adults alike.
Thanks go out to all Auxi- liary members that volunteered their time in the VFW booth and the Cootie funnel cake booth at the Otero County Fair.
Now on to upcoming events and business: Our next business meeting is at 7:00 PM on 18 September. We need to nominate and elect a new Jr.

Vice, Chaplain and any other open offices at that time.  Please keep in mind someone that you would like to see in these positions.  Now is your chance to elect someone you think will do the most for us.  Our District President, Beth Miller, will attend this meeting.  I want a good turn out to welcome her.

Our District 3 Meeting is on 2 September at noon at Post 6917 in Las Cruces.  Please attend.

A Buddy Poppy drive is on for 1 September here in Alamogordo.  Please sign up to help out with this event.  We need all the folks we can get for this.

A POW/MIA ceremony will be on Holloman AFB at Heritage Park at 8 AM on 18 September.  I want to see a lot of you at this ceremony.  Wear a light colored blouse/shirt or something with the POW/MIA logo if you can.

Department Commander BJ Lawrence will be the Guest Speaker.  There will be a POW/MIA ceremony at our Post Canteen at 5 PM on

21 September with dinner to follow.

We have a lot of Post cleanup that needs to be done before October.  If any of you have any ideas or a desire to volunteer some time, please call me at 434-4421 or Judy in the Canteen at 437-9247.  Now is the time that you can use your expertise, and creative skills to make our Post look great.  Don’t ask what your Post can do for you, ask, what you can do for your Post.

In True Sisterhood,

Mary Bahr, Auxiliary President
