FROM THE BUDDY POPPY CHAIRMAN

 

             Comrades and Sisters, our first Buddy Poppy Drive will be September 1.  We need volunteers to carry out this drive.  There is a sign-up board in the entry way of the Canteen so you can pick the best times for you that you are available.  We need you!!

From the Canteen:

 

             We are thinking about having a Tailgate cooking competition for Sunday Football!  Sign up with the Canteen Manager.  Come cook your specialty.  We would like to see at least 5 teams.  There will be a cover charge to enjoy the food and judge the cooks.  The results of each Sunday’s competition will result in a  monthly prize.

             Remember we have bands every Friday and Saturday.  We have hamburgers and patty melts on Wednesdays and different entrées on Friday and Breakfast  on Saturday mornings.

FROM THE MOC

 

             I would like to give a huge thank you to all that volunteered to help the Cooties during the Fair.  First off the Cooties and Cootettes —- Georgene, Levi, Willie, Walt, Orlo, Jack, Rueben, Gary, Steve and our Cloudcroft Cooties—Donna, Scott and Brian.  I really want to thank our non-Cootie volunteers — Mavaline, Sharon, P.D., Judy, Betty, Frank and Bobby.  Beth and Sandy really deserve a big thank you, they aren’t members of the Auxiliary or MOCA and are there every year to help.

             The help that all of you provided will make this a good year for Apollo Pup Tent 20.  Just in case some of you do not know, the money raised goes towards Veterans Hospitals and any services or programs that can help veterans that we deem worthy such as Racing Against Cancer.  Thanks to Dave Wimmer for involving us in that program.

             Speaking of hospital visits, 16 September is our first hospital visit of the year.  All Cooties and Cootettes are asked to join us if possible.  We will  meet at the Canteen Parking Lot at 8 AM. 

             Hope to see many more of you at our next scratch on 10 September at 7 PM.
